“Field” is the first if the Field Films series. It was Barnard’s first 16mm film, following a series of experimental 8mm films made between 1965 – 68. Filmed in the Pacific Northwest and Northern California, the footage for “Field” was acquired in a journalistic fashion over the course of about a year of Barnard’s daily life. The soundtrack consists of a field recording of one of Barnard’s original acoustic guitar performances.
