“Horse Heaven Mountain Field” is the 4th film in the Field Film series. It was primarily shot in the early Spring of 1970 at the remote Horse Heaven Mountain wilderness area north of the Columbia River in Washington State. Additional footage was shot near Lexington Kentucky while Barnard was visiting artist at the University of Kentucky in Lexington.Thus film was an exploration of alternative narrative forms by Michael W. Barnard, and features a performance by Mary Ann Covich. “Horse Heaven Mountain Field” was originally conceived and exhibited as a silent film. The soundtrack was added in 2016 and consists of Barnard’s original acoustic guitar music taken from the raw masters of his 2000 album “FieldMusic”.
